Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

CareKW is growing and looking for a Foot care nurse in Kitchener. The Foot Care Nurse will work closely with clients to provide specialized nursing services pertaining to foot care in facility and community settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement nursing care as outlined in the patient specific care plan.
  • Provide Foot Care to clients based on their needs
  • Communicate patient care needs and changes in patient status to the unit supervisor/Director of Nursing
  • Provide direct patient foot care as outlined in the patient’s care plan including but not limited to administration of medication, completion of treatments, and patient teaching related to care needs
  • Liaise with physicians and other members of the interprofessional care team to ensure resident care needs are met
  • Practice within the scope of practice set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

Role Requirements:

  • Current registration with the CNO, candidate must be in good standing
  • Must have foot care certification 
  • Valid work/study permit (if applicable)
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Complete immunization record (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B)
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Screen (within 3 months of hire)
  • Strong documentation and clinical skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Access to a vehicle is considered an asset
