We are seeking a motivated and professional individual to join our team as a Programmer & HelpDesk Support. If you are a solutions-based thinker who enjoys building and bridging programs, problem solving, assisting with technical set up, and systems maintenance then this position is right for you.

Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an in-house HelpDesk program. In doing so, you will provide technical support to internal departments. With your programming skills, design and implement software links between departments and external partner software. Work closely with the Development Team and assist in creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications. The Programmer and HelpDesk role also aids staff with their use of IT equipment from initial set-up through to ongoing cybersecurity maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for programming and helping people.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to write, test, & maintain API and software code to meet technical specifications.
  • Debug, troubleshoot and record software issues to identify and resolve defects or errors.
  • Provide IT support to internal departments to address hardware and software-related inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and guide users through solutions via the helpdesk.
  • Document and maintain IT support knowledge base, including FAQs and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay current with programming languages, and technologies to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Research & test software applications to make technical recommendations that streamline infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and insights for software enhancements and improvements.
  • IT Asset Management
  • This role will also aid the Development Team with implementation of new initiatives and programs.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of at least two of Java, C++, C#, Python
  • Experience in Javascript, Typescript, HTML
  • Experience in Windows operating systems, Office 365 suite & Azure
  • Familiarity with app development and backend support

  • Bring a customer service approach to their work, with a positive & approachable attitude assisting and coaching with technical issues.
  • Have excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Takes initiative to research issues and learn in unfamiliar territory.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Are proficient in back-end support for general office and internet-based applications or have a willingness to learn.
  • Have solid knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and programs.

Must have:

  • 2-4 years of demonstrated programming experience.
  • Experience in a customer service or helpdesk type role considered a strong asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, in times when travel is required, transportation options are provided.
